Meet Pattie Anderson
The person behind the camera.
I'm a photographer based in North Charleston, South Carolina. I specialize in action sports photography, but also shoot portraits. I'm currently a full-time student at Trident Technical College and plan to graduate with my A.A.S. in commercial graphics - photography in May 2021.
I retired from the U.S. Army Reserve in 2007, having spent most of my military career with the 80th Division (IT). In December 2005, I returned from a year-long deployment with the 214th Mobile Public Affairs Detachment in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom to Baghdad, Iraq. We worked at the Combined Press Information Center in the International Zone. My section published the Scimitar newspaper, This Week in Iraq newsletter, and the (now-defunct) http://www.mnf-iraq.com web site. You can see the photos I took in Iraq on Fotki.
My favorite subjects to shoot are ice hockey, soccer, and people. My photos and articles have been published on team and league websites, as well as newspapers across the United States and Canada, and one is included in the book Broph: On and Off the Ice With John Brophy, One of Hockey's Most Colorful Characters.
I also enjoy traveling. For a few years, my husband and I strove to visit all NHL arenas, a few new ones each season. We completed that goal in the 2009-10 season with trips to Detroit (the old Joe Louis Arena, which I had visited before, but my husband hadn't) and Minnesota, as well as the new arena in New Jersey. However, as the NHL added new arenas, we had to add a few more. We finally visited the new Pittsburgh arena (having previously visited the old Igloo and attended the Winter Classic at Heinz Field) and Winnipeg. We haven't yet visited the new arenas in Detroit and Edmonton.
My email address is in the image immediately below. If you'd like to discuss how I can capture memories for you, please send me an email or send me a message through my Facebook page.
